White washbasins and navy vanity units refurbished by KRP at Wimbledon Park Sports Centre, Southsea
Refurbished changing facilities with white cubicles and wood-effect flooring at Wimbledon Park Sports Centre, Southsea

KRP’s completed changing and washroom facilities at Wimbledon Park Sports Centre, Southsea, for BH Live.

Commercial toilet and washroom refurbishment

Commercial washroom renovation starts with the condition of the existing facilities and how people use them. KRP surveys the layout, plumbing and ventilation, then agrees the cubicles, sanitaryware, finishes and delivery programme before work starts.

A washroom project involves more than replacing sanitaryware. KRP coordinates the trades and interfaces required to complete the space: survey, strip-out, plumbing, drainage alterations, ventilation, IPS systems, cubicles, sanitaryware, accessible provision, lighting, flooring, wall finishes, decoration and handover documentation.

The final scope is developed around the building, user numbers, condition of existing services and the client’s specification.

Planned around occupied buildings

Commercial properties often need to remain open during refurbishment. We can phase works by area, plan disruptive activity outside core hours, maintain safe separation and agree temporary arrangements where the building and brief allow. Programme and access constraints are addressed before mobilisation.

Accessibility, safety and durable finishes

Specifications can include accessible facilities, appropriate ventilation, slip-resistant finishes, robust cubicle systems and coordination with fire-safety requirements. Product selection and compliance responsibilities are agreed as part of the project scope; certification and handover information are collated at completion.

Changing room and shower refurbishment

For sports venues, gyms and workplaces, the package can include changing cubicles, benches, showers, wet-area finishes and associated plumbing and electrical works, subject to survey. We agree drainage, ventilation, cleaning access and the facilities that must remain available during the programme.

BH Live: changing room and washroom refurbishment

KRP was appointed by BH Live to deliver refurbishment and improvement works across venues in Portsmouth and Southsea. The package included the strip-out and renewal of male and female changing facilities, alongside wider works to a viewing gallery, access ramps and a staircase.

The changing room works brought plumbing, electrical services and interior finishes together in one coordinated package. KRP removed existing fittings and finishes, prepared walls and floors, and installed wall coverings, vinyl flooring, cubicle screens and ceiling grids. First and second fix plumbing and electrical works, associated flooring in portacabin areas, finishing and snagging completed the scope.

Further commercial refurbishment experience

KRP’s commercial refurbishment in Chichester included WC, plumbing, ventilation and sanitary upgrades alongside wider internal works. Read the project scope to see how the building trades and services were coordinated.

Planning your washroom refurbishment

Start with the number and type of facilities, the people who use them and the hours your building needs to remain open. Existing plumbing and drainage, ventilation, access and the condition of walls and floors will help determine the scope and sequence of the works.

What affects the cost?

Replacing fittings within an existing layout is a different brief from relocating facilities or renewing building services. Cubicle specifications, sanitaryware, accessible provision, finishes, working hours and temporary arrangements all affect the quotation. KRP assesses the space before agreeing the works and programme.

What should you send with an enquiry?

Share the site address, photographs or drawings if available, the facilities you want to change and your preferred completion date. Tell us whether the premises will remain occupied and which facilities must stay available. We can then discuss the next steps towards a site survey and quotation.

Our process

  1. Survey the existing space and services.
  2. Confirm specification, responsibilities and phasing.
  3. Issue a detailed quotation and programme.
  4. Coordinate trades, logistics and site safety.
  5. Snag, certify and hand over the completed facility.
