KRP Developments were appointed to construct a new two-bedroom apartment on the existing flat roof of the Stubbington Mall shopping arcade. The new dwelling was to include an open-plan kitchen and living area, two bedrooms, and a bathroom.
The project scope includes the construction of a new steel frame floor structure, tied into the existing building’s metal frame, and a timber-framed superstructure. External works include facing brickwork, a pitched roof finished with slate tiles to match the existing building, and installation of new windows and doors.
Internally, the works involve the construction of new walls and ceilings, installation of doors, and fit-out of a bathroom and kitchen for the new apartment. Heating will be provided via electric panel heaters.
The 12-week programme will be carefully planned to maintain the operation of the commercial spaces below, ensuring noise levels are monitored, work areas are segregated, and the businesses continue to operate without disruption.
